If you are shopping for a carb then I wouldn't recommend a Ultra XP 950 for a mild performance engine. It is a really nice carb but you could save a lot of money by using something a little less "ultra XPish". An Edelbrock 800 carb is fairly inexpensive and would work just fine at 500 hp.
